No matter the size or shape of your home, it is important to protect those that live within your house as well as personal possessions. Whether it is just you in your property or a large family, having peace of mind regarding the security of your domestic property is vital.

Sometimes it can be difficult to understand what security measures are best for your home, or you may not be fully aware of what systems are available. Don’t worry though, Lynx Fire & Security is here to offer you a guide highlighting all the security options available to you and what ones might suit your home best! From wired and wireless alarms to CCTV systems, Lynx can offer you a fully secure and connected system.

Intruder Alarm System

Every good security system has an intruder alarm system at its base. Our intruder alarms are bespoke to each property to ensure that you have a system that works for you. Our systems include motion detectors, window and door detectors, as well as a central control unit, all of which deter criminals should there be any break-in attempts. We even have a feature that will send either a text or voice message if any other security features are activated, meaning you are always up-to-date.

When it comes to set-up, you can either go with a wired or wireless intruder alarm system. Both systems have different positives or drawbacks so depending on your home’s layout, size and shape one may be more suited to your specific property than the other. If you are stuck on what system might be best for your property, view our full guide on Which Burglar Alarm System Is Best.

Added Features for Intruder Alarm Systems

With all of our intruder alarm systems, there is a wealth of added products, apps and features that can be included to make your home even more secure. For example, the new Pyronix Speaker/Sounder-WE is a plug-in device that acts as an extra layer of protection in the form of a discreet and modern wall plug. The Speaker/Sounder-WE is particularly useful for those hard of hearing, as the device uses a flashing light to represent different signals and mimics the sounds products by the control panel. This nifty device even illuminates for 30 minutes in the event of a power outage.

For even further security, your intruder alarm systems can even integrate a panic alarm. These panic alarms can either be wired, similar to those in banks or retail stores, or they can be wireless. Wireless panic alarms are gaining popularity, and we can format your fob (that is used to set and unset your system) to trigger a panic alarm when two buttons are pressed simultaneously. For those who want their panic alarms to alert local Police, a separate PA URN is required and the system would require a maintenance agreement to be in place.

CCTV Systems for Domestic Properties

CCTV is short for Close-Circuit Television and is another security system that can be added to your home for increased security and safety. CCTV uses a camera and recorder to capture an image in real-time that can later be reviewed if necessary. The main objective of having a CCTV system installed is to deter potential theft, then if this does not succeed, at least you have video proof of the culprits that can be passed onto the police. Some of the other main benefits include:

  • Evidence opportunities
  • Reducing insurance premiums
  • Monitoring safety
  • 24/7 monitoring
  • Crime prevention
  • And more…

HomeControl2.0

HomeControl2.0 is another great feature that can be utilised with your home security system. HomeControl2.0 is an app that is available on IOS and Android that provides you with direct access to your home alarm system. The app hosts a wealth of features, including geofencing capabilities, biometric login, event history, voice notifications and more. To find out more about HomeControl2.0 view our post about it here, or visit the official Pyronix HomeControl2.0 web page for an in-depth overview.
