HomeControl2.0 is an easy to navigate application (provided by Pyronix) that can be downloaded to your mobile device or tablet. It allows you to monitor your alarm system when you’re away from your premises, making it an ideal app to further secure your property and peace of mind.
It is particularly useful as it can be downloaded to multiple phones or tablets giving you the flexibility of who you wish to have access. Whether you want to check your teenage children have arrived home from school safely or the morning rush leaves you wondering ‘did I set the alarm?’, HomeControl2.0 is likely a welcome addition to your security setup.
How Do Lynx’s Security Systems Use HomeControl2.0?
At Lynx, we prioritise making our intruder alarms as convenient as possible and understand the need for security systems to be easily accessible for all our customers. That’s why we encourage our customers to explore HomeControl2.0 and consider using it alongside our security systems.
Both our domestic and commercial intruder alarms have the ability to incorporate this facility. Systems such as the Enforcer, come with this built in as standard. Other panels, such as the Euro 76, require a module to be added. Once enabled, the system will notify you if any devices are activated using push notifications. You can also view the system’s status, history and arm/disarm the system remotely.
What Features Does HomeControl2.0 Include?
HomeControl 2.0 comes with a variety of different features that make ensuring your property’s security more manageable:
Geofencing
Their app includes a geofencing feature that allows you to set up a customisable radius around your home or business – this is usable within a distance of 100m to 1000m. The app will send you push notifications as reminders to set or unset the system when exiting or entering your pre-set radius (handy for those who can be a little forgetful).
Personal Help Alarm
It also includes additional security measures such as a personal help alarm which enables users to send their geolocation to family and friends if they need to signal a need for assistance.
At the push of an SOS - an alert is sent to pre-set family and friends who have the app downloaded on their phone. If someone responds to say they are on the way, this also updates the alert on other phones (including the one in distress) to say that someone has acknowledged the SOS. The SOS can be canceled by the phone in distress whenever needed - this also updates the status so your loved ones know you are ok.
History Log
The detailed history section means the previous fifty push notifications can be viewed, showing a helpful log of what the system has recently picked up. This can feel more reliable and provide further clarity as it logs what happens while you’re away from your property and means you can easily view these after an event has occurred.

Common Customer Queries
1. How do I bind my new router to my alarm system for the app facility?
If you have the Pyronix Cloud and have changed your Wi-Fi Router you will need to connect this to your alarm system - Follow the videos below to reconnect:
For Enforcer V11 panels only, connection via WPS is the easiest. The instructions for this can be found here. Alternatively, for Enforcer panels that predate V11, or for Euro 46 or Euro 76 panels utilising a Wi-Fi Module, refer to the instructional video here.
2. What are common failures of an alarm system?
Some of the main failures of a security alarm system come from a lack of regular system maintenance, old batteries that stopped working, cable damage, loose cables and connections or faulty sensors.
3. Is Wi-Fi required?
A Wi-Fi connection isn’t a necessary requirement for a home burglar alarm system to function effectively. However, Lynx do offer a variety of services that can utilise your home’s internet connection for notifications about alarm activations and events. HomeControl2.0 is an app by Pyronix, enabling you to receive notifications, arm, disarm, and view the status of your alarm on your mobile device.
4. What is an ARC?
ARC stands for Alarm Receiving Centre which refers to a dedicated facility that monitors the signals from systems across the UK. To include this feature, a device is added into your systems design to make it into a Monitored Alarm System which can routinely signal back and forth to an ARC regarding the device’s status or events. Including this feature means an expert team of security company specialists can act quickly to any signals.
5. What should I do if I have a break-in?
If you suspect someone has entered your property unlawfully or you have been a victim of theft, contact your local Police as soon as possible.
